During my years employed by YMCA Child and Family Services, I was honoured to have my work reflected upon during the development of their document YMCA Playing to Learn, A YMCA guide to quality care and education of young children by Lorrie Huggins, M.A. Ed. S. and Susanne T. Eden, Ed. D.
I am proud to include this document which embraces the Early Childhood Educator as professional, reflective, collaborative, purposeful and educated. It highlights a transformative time in my career during which I became engulfed in a play-based, child-centered model of care that was supported by documentation of learning and a pedagogy of emergent curriculum.
Although I cannot include the document in it's entirety, I have uploaded some photos of pages where they focused on my interactions with the children.
